‘NOT BY THE MOON’ is the title track and third track from GOT7’s eleventh mini album ‘DYE’ released on April 20th, 2020. The track is a synth-pop ballad featuring many trap influences and sounds. The song also stands out with its well renowned line-up of producers and songwriters, such as J.Y. Park and songwriting duo Jakob Mihoubi and Rudy Daouk. ‘NOT BY THE MOON’ sets a darker tone for the EP and incorporates a certain heaviness and tragic sound in its production to produce more of a classical vibe. GOT7 is a seven member South Korean pop boy group formed by JYP Entertainment in late 2013. The group members include leader Jay B, Mark Tuan, Jackson Wang, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom. They made their official debut on January 16, 2014 on Mnet's M! Countdown, performing their debut single "Girls Girls Girls". It was announced that they left JYP Entertainment on January 19th, 2021, following the expiration of their contract. On February 20, 2021, GOT7 released its first single after leaving JYP Ent., called "Encore", and now the group is signed under Warner Music Korea. Prior to their official debut as GOT7, members Jaebeom and Jinyoung debuted as a special project unit entitled JJ Project in May of 2012. Additionally, four of the remaining five members of the group appeared on the September 6, 2013 episode of MNET's reality-survival program WIN: Who Is Next, where they competed against trainees from rival company YG Entertainment. Their appearance on the show gained the group many fans among netizens. The group released their debut mini-album Got It? on January 20, 2014. The group made their first comeback in June that same year with the release of their second mini-album GOT♡, featuring the lead single "A". In October of 2014 the group ventured into the Japanese market with the release of their debut Japanese-language single AROUND THE WORLD.
